  circumcising young boys on religious grounds amounts to grievous bodily harm, a german court ruled tuesday in a landmark decision that the jewish community said trampled on parents' religious rights.. the regional court in cologne, western germany, ruled that the "fundamental right of the child to bodily integrity outweighed thefundamental rights of the parents", a judgement that is expected to set a legal precedent.. "the religious freedom of the parents and their right to educate their child would not be unacceptably compromised, if they were obliged to wait until the child could himself decide to becircumcised," the court added.. the case was brought against a doctor in cologne who had circumcised a four-year-old muslim boy on his parents' wishes.. a few days after the operation, his parents took him to hospital as he was bleeding heavily.

  yes it's true, i got to experience first hand the awesome magic powers of sparlock, the warrior wizard!tm.

  this last weekend a friend of mine asked me if i could take him to the mechanic's to pick up his car after being serviced.

  now this friend of mine (who is not and has never been a jw) is the the one and only friend that i've remained in constant contact with through the dark quarter century of my life when i was a witness.

  I got trimmed soon after birth because it was "the thing to do" with boys - ALL boys - born in New York City in the 1940s and 50s.

  I would advise against it if I was asked, but no one asks.

  If someone was determined to do this to their son, OK go ahead.

  This is blatant anti-semitism because only Jews practice religious circumcision.

  Why hasn't Germany issued protection to BOTH sexes? Could it be because Muslims - a growing segement of the german populace - like to practice female circumcision, which if FAR more disfiguring and cruel than male circumcision ever was.

  As for whether or not "it happened," the producer of the t-shirt KNOWS it did. Let's start a thread arguing about if I bought some SPARLOCK t-shirts or not; everyone's opinion is welcome and no opinion matters.

  Sometimes people don't realize that as the "owner" of that shop on cafepress, you KNOW who was sincere and who was blowing smoke. there's a lot of "smokers" in the XJW community; people who were losers as JWs are sometimes still losers after they leave the 'tower. Forgive me, I'm tired of pretending that the situation is otherwise. We can't ALL bee SPARTACUS, and we aren't.

  My opinion is that there isn't any kind of trademark or copyright infringement. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

  If there was any kind of infringement, the same pronciple would make it wrong for us to dress up like Joe Rutherford in mock display of his orations or in a toga as The Halloween Pastor Russell.

  Watchtower's Billion Dollars of Property Cannot Be Sold until Outcome of Conti Appeal

  30 minutes ago i just got off the phone with some important players in this case, and some things were relayed to me concerning a lot of details of the outcome of the last two days of court.

  i am passing this on.

  cynthia hampton, one of the main players in the candace conti case (and a close friend of 28 years), just informed me of a further, far more powerful move by the state of california against the watch tower bible and tract society of new york, inc.. by order of the superior court of the state of california - county of alameda (see documents below), until the watch tower's appeal, which won't begin until august 13th and will take up to two years to settle due to due process of law, has forbidden the watch tower to sell any more of its $1 billion in assets in the borough of brooklyn until the appeals case is finished, to assure they won't shelter their monies in the light of this most huge and devastating sexual abuse scandal ever to hit the watch tower society, and perhaps any other single-victim lawsuit.

  I'm sure the WATCHTOWER is not happy about this turn of events - after all, Armageddon could be here in two years! (yuk yuk yuk)

  But the Brooklyn properties are not the WT&TS' only assets. I'm sure they have vaults full of very liquid cash, stocks and bonds, none of which are covered by the California order, AND the WTB&TS still has its biggest ASSet: the mindless rank and file who will donate all they have for the sake of "the worldwide work."
